Golds and Blues

I like how the blues and the golds complement each other in these images. Color palettes are so essential to the success of a session and I love working with my clients to achieve the perfect look. It’s always best to start with an outfit for your child that you love and want to remember them in and then work around it to come up with a harmonious blend of colors, patterns, and textures. I also love how you can see the connections and feel the emotion in the images, especially the bond between the mother and daughter.

Urban Legends

Here’s one of my most beloved people in the world–my son’s first teacher in life–and her drop-dead gorgeous, fun, and wacky family.

RT side-1

The Girl of Many Expressions

Mostly joy and exuberance, though. This family loves bright colors, textures, patterns, and contemporary art so we co-ordinated some intriguing, artistic combinations of wardrobe with background colors. I love how different the three family pictures are, and how the light is continuously changing so the skin tones are, too, as in the two very diffferent profile shots near the end of the gallery. And, as you can tell, I had the benefit of a born model who was absolutely delighted to be photographed!

Mothers’ Day Wildflower Special!

$250 includes: 20 minute session | 3 digital files | Zilker Park or Barton Hills Park | sessions are at 7pm to capture best sunlight | Limited slots, ends May 12, Mothers’ Day. Your kids will love traipsing through the flowers and you will love having these sweet and colorful memories.

Variations on Three Brothers

These boys were fun, and funny, all with such completely different personalities, so I really enjoyed traipsing around the woods with them. According to their parents, it’s hard to get them all into a photograph—they’re at the age of “blah, blah, this is boring, do I really have to do this?’ so I was overjoyed to get such an interesting range of expressions and poses. and of course, some real smiles and laughs.

Killer Curls

and a robust, delighted face. What more could I ask from this sweet boy? They make fun look so easy!

Remembering Vladi

What I remember about my visit to their home was the aura of warmth and vitality that permeated the household. You can see an unquenchable spark of life in Vladi’s eyes, a spirit so alive and strong, even in spite of an unrelenting illness. The whole family came for pictures—nieces, siblings, neighbors, and the grand matriarch. All dressed in their Sunday best, in his honor. And all keenly aware of the purpose of the bittersweet reunion—to create memories of those sparkling eyes and the love that they radiated while there was still time. I am in awe of all the gentleness and tenderness that I saw, and know that Vladi was wrapped in sweet sunshine by his guardian angels—all of them—until his last moment, 8 weeks later.

Little Darlings

So cute with their big eyes, big yawns, and big wiggles. Children are the greatest gift! The next greatest gift is pictures of them that you will look at over and over and cherish for a lifetime. Give a friend or loved one a Valentine’s Day gift certificate. www.ninamillerstudio.com

Sweethearts on the Playground

From the trampoline to the rope ladder to the pulleys, these two are in swinging (and smiling) in synch. My boy and his girl.
